Epsom G3 triumph for daughter of Dubawi

Anna Nerium strikes in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes

The admirable Anna Nerium, a four-year-old daughter of Dubawi, landed her third Group victory on Saturday, 1 June when taking the G3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom. Held up last early on, she came into contention down the outside two furlongs from home before sweeping clear to record a one and a quarter length triumph.

The winner of five career races, she was adding to a brace of G3 triumphs in the Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes as a juvenile and the Supreme Stakes at Goodwood last season.

Bred by Stowell Hill Stud, Anna Nerium is a daughter of the winning Old Vic mare Anna Oleanda, who has produced eight winners including Group winners Piping Rock (also by Dubawi) and Middle Club (Fantastic Light).  Anna Oleanda has also produced the Manduro mare Coplow, dam of Classic winner Billesdon Brook.

Dubawi has now sired a world leading 20 Stakes winners in 2019. This includes 14 that have scored at Group level including Old Persian, Ghaiyyath, The Revenant, Plumatic and Lah Ti Dar.
