Efraan the latest Stakes winner for Teofilo

Three-year-old colt leads all the way to land the Prix Frederic de Lagrange

Teofilo added a new Black Type winner to his record in fine style on Friday, 20 July when his three-year-old son Efraan did it the hard way at Vichy, leading from pillar to post to land the 12-furlong Listed Prix Frederic de Lagrange.

Dictating the pace throughout under Gregory Benoist, Efraan was asked for his effort two furlongs from home and was never seriously challenged, easing clear of his rivals close to home to win by two lengths.

Bred in France by Al Shaqab Racing, Efraan is out of the G1-placed mare Rjwa, herself a daughter of multiple G2 winner Minallon.

Teofilo has sired no fewer than 27 runners rated 100 or higher by Timeform, including Royal Ascot winner Dash Of Spice.

He has sired 14 G1 winners to date, including this year’s Doncaster Mile winner Happy Clapper
