Dubawi sires 34th Stakes winner of 2019

Improving filly Mashael lands the Listed Prix Charles Laffitte; Teofilo sires at new Stakes winner at Toulouse

Dubawi remains the world’s best stallion by individual Stakes winners and on Monday, 7 October he sired his 34th scorer on the year.

Going into the Prix Charles Laffitte on the back of a first victory at Clairefontaine, three-year-old filly Mashael wasn’t pressed to record an easy four-length victory from Bighearted (Farhh), with Samothrace (Iffraaj) back in third.

Owned and bred by Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, Mashael is a daughter of the unraced Al Jassasiyah, who was a 1,500,000Gns yearling purchase at Tattersalls. From the extended family of New Approach, Al Jassasiyah is a full-sister to three Stakes performers including Oaks heroine Was.

Dubawi has sired four G1 winners this season including new Darley stallion Too Darn Hot, who landed the Sussex Stakes and Prix Jean Prat in July.

Teofilo matched Dubawi by siring a new Stakes winner when his three-year-old daughter Eliade landed the Listed Prix Panacee at Toulouse. The Eric De Chambure-bred filly was gaining a well-deserved victory after a series of credible efforts at Stakes level.
