Dubawi shows Australian strength with Ball Of Muscle

Flemington win is third at Stakes level for evergreen sprinter

Another reminder of the impact of Dubawi on Australian racing was delivered by the win of his outstanding sprinter Ball Of Muscle in Listed Absolut Stakes at Flemington on 9 November.

One of the few remaining members of Dubawi’s southern hemisphere crops, Ball Of Muscle bounced back to his best form to claim his third Stakes win and his ninth overall.

A member of an illustrious Australian sprinting family, Ball Of Muscle displayed brilliant speed and great tenacity to lead throughout and defeat Crystal Dreamer by 1-3/4 lengths.

Ball Of Muscle is from the Gold Brose mare Parfore whose nine foals to race have all won and include the G1 winners Terravista and Tiger Tees, another son of Dubawi.

Bred by Mr M Ryan, Ball Of Muscle took his record to nine wins from 31 starts. He is  one of Dubawi’s 143 Stakes winners, 33 of them at G1-level.

Dubawi will stand the coming season at Dalham Hall Stud, Newmarket at a fee of £250,000.
