Dubawi influence lingers in Australia thanks to Ball Of Muscle

Veteran sprinter wins G2 Challenge Stakes at Randwick

He’s well and truly in the twilight of his career, but the evergreen sprinter Ball Of Muscle keeps providing living proof of the influence of his sire Dubawi.

Ball Of Muscle lined up for his 38th start in the G2 Challenge Stakes at Randwick and produced all of his speed and tenacity to make it the 13th victory in a career that also includes 14 placings.

The veteran of the field led from the jump, set up a handy break at the top of the straight and rallied under extreme pressure when tackled by the high-class sprinter Redzel to beat that horse by a nose.

While the paternal side of his pedigree speaks for itself, Ball Of Muscle’s maternal line isn’t too bad either. His dam Parfore, a winning daughter of Gold Brose, has produced 11 foals, 10 of whom have raced and nine of whom have won. Among them are the G1-winning sprinter Terravista and Tiger Tees, along with the Stakes winners Supereasy and Our Lukas.

Dubawi has now sired a world leading six Group winners in 2019, headed by Meydan G2 winners North America, D'bai and Poetic Charm.
