Dubawi colt earns first Stakes win at Craven meeting

Morshdi lands the Listed Feilden Stakes

The twice-raced Morshdi, son of Champion sire Dubawi, opened his three-year-old account in perfect fashion with victory in the nine furlong Listed Feilden Stakes at Newmarket's Rowley Mile. The colt was prominent and ridden to lead inside the final furlong and despite showing greenness, finished strong to the line to prevail by one length with Space Blues' son Bourbon Blues back in third.

Bred by Godolphin, the colt is out of Galileo mare Into The Mystic and is a full-brother to G2 winner Nakheel, while the mare has a yearling colt by Palace Pier. Morshdi is clearly well-regarded and has multiple G1 entries, including the Epsom Derby and Prix du Jockey Club.

Dubawi, Britain’s most successful stallion, has produced 64 G1 winners including last year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Notable Speech and Godolphin’s most successful Group winner, Rebel’s Romance. Dubawi stands for £350,000 at Dalham Hall Stud.
