The Dubawi bandwagon continues to roll

Another new Stakes winner for the world’s leading sire as Lillian Russell lands Prix Joubert

Barely a week goes by without leading sire Dubawi adding another Stakes winner to his ever-increasing tally and the first seven days in September were no exception, as he recorded a remarkable fourth Stakes winner of the month.

Today was the turn of his three-year-old daughter Lillian Russell, who swept from the rear of the field to run out the decisive winner of the Listed Prix Joubert at Maisons-Laffitte.

This was the fourth career victory for the Godolphin filly, who is trained by Henri-Alex Pantall, and her first at Black Type level.

Lillian Russell is the first foal to race out of the G1 French St Leger winner Be Fabulous, herself a full sister to G1 Prix von Europa winner and German Oaks third Baila Me.

Her victory caps another remarkable week for Dubawi, who reached the number one spot in the Thoroughbred Racing Commentary Global Sires’ rankings, and recorded a Group double at the weekend led by the very exciting juvenile Too Darn Hot.

Dubawi also became the first ever UK-based stallion to reach 100 individual Group winners early this year.
