Double on the day for Casamento

Trend Eagle breaks his maiden in Sweden and Silver Casina wins his third race in Italy

First-season sire Casamento enjoyed a profitable Sunday 20 November when siring two winners in two different countries.

First to salute the judge was his son Silver Casina, who beat three previous winners in a good conditions race run over 1500m at Pisa in Italy. Racing for the sixth time, he had previously won two races at Milan with a brace of seconds in Rome.

Silver Casina was bred in Ireland by Victor Stud and is the second winner out of the Alzao mare Silvertine, herself a half-sister to G1 winner Kinnaird, plus Dubawi’s Chester Vase winner Mickdaam. She is also closely related to smart performer Ivawood.

An hour later in Sweden, Trend Eagle broke his maiden on his second career start when winning over a mile at Jagersro. Bred by J K Thoroughbreds, he is out of the Elusive City mare Danni Samuel, who is herself a half-sister to Italian 2,000 Guineas hero Prince Arthur.

Casamento has now sired 13 individual winners including a pair of Group performers in G3 Horris Hill Stakes second Kings Gift and Stamp Collecting in Italy. He will be standing this coming season at a fee of £5,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
