Devamani charges late to take G3 Monmouth Stakes

Dubawi gelding splits rivals on way to earning second Graded Stakes win

Devamani had to wait for running room, but when a seam finally appeared the son of Dubawi took full advantage, bursting between rivals on his way to capturing the G3 Monmouth Stakes by one-and-a-half lengths at Monmouth Park 5 June.

Bred by the Aga Khan Studs, Devamani is a half-brother to G1 Prix Ganay winner Dariyan out of the G1 Hong Kong Vase heroine Daryakana (Selkirk). She is the best performer from the G1-winning Night Shift mare Daryaba.

Devamani is the 17th Stakes winner of 2021 for his sire Dubawi, who earlier this spring celebrated his 200th individual Stakes winner - becoming the first British-based sire to do so. Among Dubawi’s other Stakes winners this season are G1 Dubai Turf winner Lord North and G3 Prix Penelope heroine Philomene.
