Dazzling day for Dubawi

Two winners in one day for first-season sire takes his tally to four with three new winners inside a week

First-season sire Dubawi enjoyed a hugely successful afternoon’s racing on 10 June, recording his third and fourth individual winners and taking his tally of winners for the week to three.

Two-year-old colt Frankenstein kicked off proceedings, running out the three-and-a-half length winner of the seven-and-a-half furlong maiden at Milan racecourse in Italy.

Bred by Azienda Agricola Rosati Colarieti, he is out of the Listed winner Lifting, making him a half brother to the Stakes-placed Lift Cape (Cape Cross). Lifting, who is from the family of numerous outstanding performers including Her Ladyship, Lord Of Men and five-time G1 winner Attraction, has now produced seven winners from eight foals to race.

Later on the same day, Leviathan made a winning debut at Hamilton Park, putting up an impressive performance to win the six-furlong maiden.

Breaking well from the stalls, the Tom Tate-trained colt was prominent throughout and taking the lead a furlong from home, kept on well to hold off the evens favourite Loveinthesand and win by half a length.

Bred by Colin and Melba Bryce's Laundry Cottage Stud, Leviathan is out of the Stakes-winning Efisio mare Gipsy Moth who is also dam of Listed winner and G3 place getter Illustrious Blue.
