Daughters of Dubawi and Teofilo lead the way in French Group contest

Ambition lands G3 Prix Fille de l’Air from Vespera

Dubawi added a new Group winner to his record on Monday, 11 November when his three-year-old daughter Ambition led home Vespera (Teofilo) in the G3 Prix Fille de l’Air at Toulouse.

Ambition was settled in third for much of the 10-and-a-half-furlong contest under Mickael Barzalona and was still on the bridle entering the home straight. Once asked to quicken, she picked up well and kept on superbly to win by a length from the fast-finishing Vespera.

Bred by Ashbrittle Stud & Mr M. H. Dixon, Ambition boasts a wonderful pedigree, being out of New Approach’s Oaks winner and St Leger second, Talent.

Dubawi has now sired 24 individual Group winners in 2019, four of whom have triumphed at the highest level including new Darley stallion Too Darn Hot.

New Approach is now establishing himself well as a broodmare sire, with his daughters also producing G1 winner Earthlight and recent Stakes winner Scentasia.

Both Dubawi and New Approach stand at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, at fees of £250,000 and £30,0000 respectively, Oct 1, SLF.
