Daughter of Dubawi lands the German 1,000 Guineas

Electrelane makes a successful trip to Germany to become the latest Group winner for her outstanding sire

There is little doubt that Dubawi is one of the world’s leading young sires and so far, his results in 2012 have further confirmed this, with him recording no fewer than ten individual Stakes winners.

On 3 June, Electrelane became his 11th Black type winner this year and 26th career Group winner when landing the G2 German 2,000 Guineas.

Settled just off the pace under Jim Crowley, the Ralph Beckett-trained filly was perfectly poised entering the straight and outbattled Cherry Danon in impressive style to win by a short head, with the pair some five lengths clear.

Bred by Bigwigs Bloodstock, Electrelane is out of the Stakes-placed Imperial Ballet mare Imperialistic, who is dam of three winners from three foals to race.

Dubawi is also sire this year of G1 Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso, promising G2 winner Al Kazeem, plus a further four Group winners.
