Darley-sired one-two in the G3 Eyrefield Stakes

Guaranteed (Teofilo) leads home Masaff (Raven’s Pass) at Leopardstown

Teofilo sired a new Group winner on Saturday, 27 October when his juvenile son Guaranteed gamely landed the G3 Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown. Racing in second from an early stage in the nine furlong contest, he went to the front a furlong from home and defied the late challenge of Masaff (Raven’s Pass) to win by half-a-length.

Bred by Jim Bolger, he is a son of the Toccet mare Gearanai, who is a half-sister to Sanaara, dam of Teofilo’s Group-placed juvenile Theobald. Gearanai also has a yearling filly and a colt foal by Teofilo and is a granddaughter of G1 Kentucky Oaks heroine Dispute.

Teofilo has sired 30 Stakes performers so far in 2018 including the G1-winning pair Happy Clapper and Humidor, plus seven further Group winners including Eziyra, Diplomat, Cross Counter, Tantheem and Teodoro.
