Coronet remains unbeaten at Newmarket

Juvenile daughter of Dubawi breaks the juvenile track record in the Zetland Stakes

Exciting prospect Coronet, a two-year-old daughter of Dubawi, remained unbeaten on Saturday 8 October when landing the Listed Zealand Stakes at Newmarket. Held up in rear early, she cruised through the race and when asked to quicken up the hill, she got the better of Cunco with Permian (Teofilo) back in third. The final winning time of 2:02.89 was a new juvenile track record for the ten furlong trip and she will be trained next season for the Oaks at Epsom.

Bred by Denford Stud Ltd, Coronet is a half-sister to the Classic-placed Midas Touch. Her dam, the Stakes-winning Darshaan mare Approach, is a half-sister to Classic winner Aussie Rules, who also has a yearling colt by New Approach.

Coronet is Dubawi’s 27th indiviual Stakes winner of the year with 11 coming since the start of September. Just last weekend his juvenile daughter Wuheida landed the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac with his three-year-old colt Move Up winning the Cumberland Lodge Stakes.
