Coroebus becomes Dubawi’s third 2,000 Guineas winner

Brilliant colt wins by three quarters of a length at Newmarket

Dubawi’s stunning son Coroebus gained his first G1 triumph on Saturday, 30 April when taking a thrilling 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. Held up from his outside draw, he moved through the race in smooth fashion, quickening into the dip and running on well up the hill to record a three-quarters-of-a-length triumph over the previous unbeaten colts Native Trail and Luxembourg.

Dubawi has now sired three 2,000 Guineas winners after his first-crop son Makfi, and the impressive Night Of Thunder, who is now one of Europe’s best young stallions.

A Godolphin homebred, Coroebus is the second foal of Teofilo’s G3-winning daughter First Victory, who is a half-sister to five Stakes winners including dual G1 Dubai World Cup hero Thunder Snow.

Dubawi has now sired a World leading 18 Stakes winners in 2022 including G1 winner Lord North. He currently sits close to two notable landmarks, having sired 49 individual G1 winners and 149 individual Group winners.
