Too Darn Hot recorded a new Stakes winner on Monday, 9 March when his son Bootlegger landed the Listed Morphettville Guineas in Australia.
Always handy under Emily Finnegan, the three-year-old kept to his task brilliantly in the closing stages of the one-mile contest to win by half a length.
Bootlegger was bred by Vintage Bloodstock SA and is out of the British-bred Dalakhani mare Princess Youmzain, herself a half-sister to Dubawi’s G1 Hong Kong Cup winner Akeed Mofeed.
Too Darn Hot has been enjoying another outstanding season in Australia, siring recent G1 Oakleigh Plate hero Tropicus. His northern hemisphere runners also continue to excel early in 2026, with Native Approach and Title Role providing their sire with a Black Type double on Super Saturday at Meydan last weekend, winning the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint and Jumeirah 2,000 Guineas respectively.
Too Darn Hot is also sire of sensational multiple G1 winner Fallen Angel, plus 2025 top-flight winner Tornado Alert. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £100,000, Oct 1, SLF.
