Marenko showed a good turn of foot at Ascot to break her maiden in some style, cruising home to win by nearly four lengths.
The daughter of Exceed And Excel boasts an eye-catching pedigree, being from the great Cheveley Park Stud family of the 1,000 Guineas heroine Russian Rhythm.
Marenko is out of the winning Pivotal mare Safina, whose best day came when she was placed in the Listed Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot in 2010. It was Safina who became the first winner for her dam, who also notched up G1 victories in the Coronation and Nassau Stakes, when she broke her maiden at Chester as a three-year-old.
