Daughter of Helmet makes a perfect start at Lingfield
Making a belated career start on Friday 12 May due to an injury sustained at two, Helmet's three-year-old daughter Express Lady impressed when making a winning introduction at Lingfield Park.
Always held in high regard by Hugo Palmer (a video of her on the gallops last year can be found here), she was a bit keen early in the seven furlong contest but given a considerate ride by Josephine Gordon, only had to be nudged out hands-and-heels to win by a length with a gaping seven lengths back to the third.
A relative of the European Champion Dream Ahead, she is one of 19 winners so far this season for second-crop sire Helmet that includes the Classic winners Thunder Snow and Anda Muchacho.
