Bid For Glory auctions come to a close

Strong demand for all stallions in Darley’s inaugural series of auctions in Europe

The second series of Darley’s Bid For Glory auctions ended today and once again there was plenty of interest from breeders.

As was the case last week, nominations to all six stallions achieved prices close to or in excess of their advertised stud fees and the final bids were; £45,500 for the nomination to Exceed And Excel (pictured), £17,000 for Farhh, €36,500 for Iffraaj, £108,000 for New Approach, €10,000 for Reckless Abandon and €50,000 for Teofilo.

Sam Bullard, Darley’s Director of Stallions said, “We have been delighted with the interest breeders have shown in this first series of auctions in Europe and would like to thank everyone who took part.

“It was very pleasing to see many of last week’s bidders – both successful and unsuccessful - in the thick of it again this week, together with some breeders who were placing bids for the first time during the past three days.”
