Beautiful Romance leads home a Darley-sired trifecta in the Nad Al Sheba Trophy

Daughter of New Approach wins from Vazirabad (Manduro) and Sheikhzayedroad (Dubawi)

New Approach mare Beautiful Romance, last seen winning the G2 Zipping Stakes in Australia, made the perfect start to her 2017 campaign with a game victory in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy at Meydan.

Racing in the Godolphin blue for Saeed bin Suroor, Beautiful Romance was settled off the early pace under Oisin Murphy but began to improve her position before the final turn and sprinted for home at the top of the home straight. Multiple G1 winner Vazirabad (Manduro) loomed up as the rest quickened for home but Beautiful Romance ran on in tremendously game fashion, pulling clear to win by a length and half. Another previous G1 winner, Dubawi’s Sheikhzayedroad, finished third to provide the Darley stallions with the 1-2-3 in the feature race of the evening.

This was the fourth Black type win for this talented mare, who took the G2 Middleton Stakes at York last year, plus the August Stakes as a three-year-old.

Beautiful Romance is out of the Group-winning Cape Cross mare Mazuna, also dam of Sepoy’s Stakes-placed son Executive Force.

New Approach is sire of six G1 winners to date, including Dawn Approach – whose first two-year-olds (already the subject of rave reviews from trainers) hit the track this year.

New Approach stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £30,000, whilst Dawn Approach stands at Kildangan Stud at €30,000 - both October 1st SLF terms.
