New juvenile Stakes winner for Exceed And Excel

Exceed And Excel has claimed another two-year-old Stakes race after Armed For Action maintained her unbeaten status when landing the Queen Adelaide Stakes over 1050m at Morphetville.

Armed For Action jumped straight to the front from where jockey Daniel Moor was able to dictate the speed of the race, with the filly clearing out to win comfortably by three-lengths in a time of 1:2.7.

Bred by Milburn Park and trained by Anthony Freedman in Victoria, Armed For Action is from a Timber Country mare Brave And Bold and becomes the sires fifth individual Stakes winner this season. Exceed And Excel was the leading sire of juveniles last season, a crop that consisted of the dual G1 winning colt Helmet and the sire looks to have an equally exciting crop coming through this season with the likes of the unbeaten Applegate, Popular Acclaim and now Armed For Action.

Exceed And Excel enjoyed a banner year in 2011, through the exploits of the European G1-winners Excelebration and Margot Did and since 2008, when his first juveniles hit the track, he has sired more than twice the number of Royal Ascot Stakes two-year-olds than any other stallion. He will stand the this season at Dalham Hall Stud for a fee of £22,500, SLF.
