Impressive three-year-old Angel Capital returned to racing on Saturday, 8 February in scintillating form when he finished fast to easily win the G2 Autumn Stakes over 1,400m at Caulfield.
The son of Harry Angel came from sixth approaching the home turn to overwhelm early leader Plymouth, with Evaporate finishing in third place.
The Listed McKenzie Stakes and G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude winner from last year was eased up by jockey Ben Melham nearing the line while securing his third Black-Type victory for Cranbourne trainer Clint McDonald.
In notching his fourth win from just seven starts, Angel Capital lifted his prize-money tally to $569,550.
Bred by David Peacock and offered by Mill Park Stud, South Australia at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, the colt out of the Teofilo mare Bahamas was sold to Upper Bloodstock for $400,000.
Angel Capital is also a half-brother to Stakes winners Senor Toba and Berkeley Square and gave Harry Angel’s progeny their 27th Stakes-race success.
