Ammolite the latest winner for Profitable

Debut victory for promising filly sees her first-season sire record winner number six

Profitable’s successful start to his stud career continued on Tuesday, 1 June when his daughter Ammolite came with a superb late run to land the seven-furlong fillies’ maiden at Lingfield.

Settled on the rail in midfield under Hayley Turner, Ammolite (who is trained by Simon and Ed Crisford) was shaken up two furlongs out despite being short of room in the closing stages, picked up well once she had a clear run and swept home to win by a neck.

Ammolite was bred by Mrs Clodagh McStay and is one of six winners out of the winning Halling mare Romie’s Kastett, a full sister to multiple Group winner and G1-placed Norse Dancer.

Profitable is also sire of the Group-placed filly Quick Suzy, plus the unbeaten Thunder Love.
