20th first crop winner for Profitable

Mythical Molly breaks her maiden at Musselburgh

Mythical Molly, a daughter of Profitable, became the 20th winner for her first crop sire when taking a five furlong nursery at Musselburgh on Saturday, 11 September.

Tracking the leaders, the Brian Ellison-trained filly was ridden a furlong out, taking the lead in the final strides and staying on to hold Texas Man and win by half a length.

Bred by Sebastian Curran, Mythical Molly is the third foal out of the winning Mastercraftsman mare The Tempest. She is a half-sister to the Stakes performers Marie of Lyon and Spygate, out of the Listed-winning Medicean mare Virginia Hall. She is a half-sister to the G3 Firth of Clyde Stakes winner Violette and G3 Nell Gwyn victrix Silca’s Gift.

Profitable had already enjoyed success earlier in the day with Mr Professor taking a second victory in a mile handicap at Bath following a breakthrough win at Kempton last Sunday for trainer Alice Haynes.

Among Profitable’s other performers this season are G2 Queen Mary heroine Quick Suzy and Listed Curragh Stakes winner Head Mistress.
