The 2015 Stallion Parade at Darley in America

This ninth annual event showcased 14 stallions that will be standing at Darley in America for 2014

The month of January certainly is a bit unpredictable – and sometime unforgiving – as to what the weather can bring but the temperature was quite reasonable and the rain never really came as we conducted our 2015 stallion parade at Darley in America.

A few hundred breeders and guests were treated to a viewing of our 14 stallions that will be standing at Jonabell in 2015 followed by a very nice reception in what is normally our breeding shed.

Joining Charlie Boden, Darley in America’s Head of Sales, in the role of emcee (not to be confused with our stallion Emcee) was Eclipse Award winning writer Sean Clancy.

Animal Kingdom takes his turn

They provided the background and updates for each stallion - Alpha, Animal Kingdom, Bernardini, Desert Party, Discreet Cat, Elusive Quality, Emcee, Girolamo, Hard Spun, Medaglia d'Oro, Midshipman, Regal Ransom, Street Boss and Street Sense - and Sean also added in a number of anecdotal comments about past owners and trainers which the crowd found to be quite enjoyable.

The transformed breeding shed

A large LED video board was erected that previewed a few statistics and facts about the stallions prior to the parade and then provided a nice backdrop (see Animal Kingdom, pictured) as the stallions made their way around the showing area.

Our marketing department coordinated a metamorphosis of sorts in transforming the receiving area of our breeding shed - as well as the shed itself - into something quite the opposite. Stalls became serving stations, pictures were hung, and clients were treated to comfortable couches and fireplaces.

A few members of the 2014 Darley Flying Start class

The 2014 class of the Darley Flying Start were on hand to assist with the event and the 2014 class of the DITI’s (Darley International Thoroughbred Internships) were also in attendance.

Bernardini watches the crowd

All in all, it was a great event and we are most appreciative of those in attendance and are very thankful that we can show our gratitude in this way for their past and future support.
