First reported foal by Iffraaj

Bay colt arrives on 12 January

The first foal by high-class sprinter Iffraaj has arrived.

Born on 12 January at Parkway Farm in County Cork, breeder Denis McDonnell reported that he was very pleased with the bay colt and that he was, “a very good foal”. Out of the Alzao mare Acidanthera, he is a half-brother to two winners and is from the family of Darley Japan stallion and St Leger winner Rule Of Law.

Iffraaj himself boasts an outstanding pedigree, being out of a half-sister to fellow Kildangan resident Cape Cross and from the immediate family of Diktat, Desirable, Shadayid and Russian Rhythm. Timeform’s top-rated speed horse of 2006, Iffraaj was the brilliant winner of the Lennox Stakes that year and beaten by the narrowest of margins in the Darley July Cup. Upon his retirement to Kildangan Stud, he covered the best book of mares of any first-season sire in Ireland standing at €25,000 or less, including 29 dams of Black type performers.

His fee for the 2008 season is €12,000 October 1st Special live foal and should you wish to discuss sending your mare to Iffraaj (or to any of the other Kildangan stallions), please contact Mick Buckley on +353 (0)45 527600.
