Naval Crown filly La Rebe made a successful introduction at Pisa as she landed a newcomers’ race in striking fashion.
Bred by Ringfort Stud and owned by Connie Srl, La Rebe raced in second before switching out at the top of the straight. She hit the front inside the final quarter mile and readily put daylight between herself and nine rivals.
La Rebe was purchased for €20,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale in May. She is out of Katie O’Hara, who is a half-sister to Black Type performers Permit and Seaport.
Naval Crown is enjoying a strong first season, with his initial crop featuring G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint runner-up Hell Of A Spin and Irish G3 scorer Sea Of Rain.
