G1 ambitions for Regal Palace Pier filly after big Vanity win

Lindsay Park’s Regal Ambition continued her Stakes-winning spring with a brilliant Vanity victory on Derby Day at Flemington.

Palace Pier filly Regal Ambition produced a barnstorming finish from near last to justify her favouritism in the G3 Vanity (1,400m) on Victoria Derby day at Flemington in a performance that underlined her undoubted talent.

The Listed Jim Moloney Stakes winner, who ran third in the G1 Thousand Guineas earlier this month, notched her second Stakes victory as she scored by a length and three-quarters over Beautiful You and Affari in the $240,000 race for three-year-old fillies.

Bred by an Arrowfield syndicate, Regal Ambition is out of the Snitzel mare Dame Pattie and was a $230,000 purchase for her trainers and microsyndication company, The Racing League, at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Palace Pier shuttled to Darley’s Kelvinside for just one season in 2022, but that crop of 64 foals has already produced G3 Baillieu Handicap winner Southend, the Listed-placed Wolf Gap and Regal Ambition.

Standing at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, Palace Pier is also the sire of six Stakes winners in the northern hemisphere headed by G2 winner Royal Fixation.
