Arabian Crown continued Godolphin’s excellent recent record in the G1 Canadian International as he overpowered his opposition to win by three-and-a-quarter lengths at Woodbine on Saturday, 3 October.
Breaking a little awkwardly from the stalls, Arabian Crown soon recovered and settled into second, a length-and-a-half behind Tomasello. The five-year-old son of Dubawi took closer order as the seven runners bunched leaving the back and forged clear from his rivals after taking up the running with half a mile to go.
Tawny Port and Purview attempted in vain to close the gap but Arabian Crown continued to expand his lead despite drifting out, before being eased near the line to win comfortably.
Arabian Crown was bred by G B Bloodstock from the Stakes-winning mare, Dubai Rose (Dubai Destination), and is a half-brother to multiple French Stakes winner The Juliet Rose (Monsun) and full brother to Listed winner Everest Rose.
The victory by Arabian Crown made the gelding the 66th G1 winner worldwide for the outstanding Dubawi.
