First-season sire Perfect Power added a new winner in very impressive style on Friday, 11 September when his son Perfect Strike cruised to a wide-margin win over five furlongs at Sandown.
Always prominent under Cieran Fallon, the William Haggas-trained colt took the lead two furlongs from home and from then on, the result never looked in doubt as he eased further and further clear.
A €280,000 Breeze Up purchased, Perfect Strike was bred by Sarl Ecurie C Marzocco and is out of the Wootton Bassett mare Welsche, a full-sister to G2 winner and G1 placegetter Tamahere.
Perfect Power is also sire of the highly rated Mithaaly, Underdog and Tropical Crown, plus recent impressive winner Girl Scout.
Perfect Power was an outstanding juvenile, winning the Norfolk at Royal Ascot before annexing the G1 Prix Morny and G1 Middle Park. He went on to win the G1 Commonwealth Cup back at Royal Ascot at three.
