Kosuma produces a late run to maintain her unbeaten record

Night Of Thunder's daughter takes the G3 Prix de Cabourg in eyecatching fashion

Kosuma, the two-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder, made it three from three when swooping late to take the G3 Prix de Cabourg over 6f at Deauville on Sunday 2nd August.

The Andre and Lavinia Fabre-trained filly came into the race off the back of two wins at Saint-Cloud in May, her only starts to date. After breaking well, Kosuma was hooked towards the rear of the nearside group by Maxime Guyon and raced strongly. Her jockey appeared keen to hold on for a late challenge, maintaining cover until a gap opened up ahead. Once clear, his mount responded well, swooping into contention before going on to win by an impressive one and a half lengths.

Owned and bred by Wertheimer & Frere, Kosuma is the first foal from the Listed-winning mare Any Time Soon (Camelot), herself a daughter of multiple G1 winner and Prix de Diane heroine, Aquarelliste (Danehill).

She was the second filly to win at Group level for Night Of Thunder in under 24 hours, following the stylish victory of Amberglen in the G3 Lake George Stakes at Saratoga the previous evening. Night Of Thunder maintains Dubawi's legacy as a sire of global consequence and five G1 winners in 2026 puts him clear of all other stallions in the world. With Bow Echo and Ombudsman as domestic flagbearers, he is the only stallion to have had seven-figure yearlings at sales in Britain, Ireland and France in 2025.
