Son of Too Darn Hot triumphs in Meydan G1

Native Approach lands the Al Quoz Sprint

Native Approach, a first-crop son of Too Darn Hot, continued his improvement at sprint distances when winning his first G1 in the Al Quoz Sprint. Run over six furlongs on Meydan’s turf track, he was always in the front rank and ran on gamely to win by a neck.

He was backing up his victory in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint over the same course and distance last month.

Bred by Godolphin, Native Approach is a son of the Stakes-winning Shamardal mare Sperry, who has already produced a Group winner in Discovery Island (Dubawi). Sperry also has a juvenile filly by Too Darn Hot in training with Charlie Appleby, and has just given birth to a filly foal by same stallion earlier this month.

Too Darn Hot has sired five Black Type winners in 2026 including Tropicus, who won the G1 Oakleigh Plate in Australia, and his three-year-old son Title Role, winner of the Jumeirah 2,000 Guineas.
