Daughter of New Approach flies to second G2 victory

Godolphin's Beautiful Romance lands the Zipping Classic in Melbourne

Beautiful Romance, a daughter of New Approach, recorded her second victory at G2 level with a thrilling win in the G2 Zipping Classic over 12 furlongs at Sandown, Australia pn 12 November.

Settled in midfield in the early stages, Beautiful Romance was shuffled back at a crucial stage as some of her competitors began to make their runs. However, jockey Glyn Schofield patiently waited for a gap and when it came she drove through to sweep home and grab victory by a nose.

G1 placed at Ascot behind Simple Verse on Champions Day last year, Beautiful Romance claimed the G2 Middleton Stakes on resumption at York earlier this year. The Zipping Classic was her third Stakes victory.

Out of the G3-winning Cape Cross mare Mazuna, Beautiful Romance is a half-sister to Stakes-performing Sepoy two-year-old Executive Force.

New Approach is also sire of G1 winners Elliptique and Potemkin this year, plus fellow G2 winners Nearly Caught, New Predator and Messi.

He will stand the 2017 season at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £30,000, while his star son Dawn Approach is standing at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €30,000.
