Winning streak continues for three-year-old son of Iffraaj

Western Empire adds a third Stakes victory at Ascot

Western Empire, a three-year-old son of Iffraaj, made it three consecutive Stakes victories when taking the Listed Melvista Stakes at Ascot, WA on Saturday, 27 March. 7

Following a decisive win in the Listed J C Robert’s Stakes just two weeks earlier, the New Zealand bred gelding outclassed his rivals to win comfortably, further cementing his claims in the G2 Western Australian Derby next month.

Out of the G2-winning Jeune mare Western Jewel, Western Empire is a half-brother to the Listed-winning Western Temple and from the family of G3 winner Timeless Action.

Iffraaj has made a great start to the 2021 siring the winners of five Stakes contests already including last month’s G3 Winter Derby winner Forest Of Dean and G2 Al Fahidi Fort Stakes hero Land Of Legends, who lines up today in the G1 Dubai Turf at Meydan.

Iffraaj is currently standing the 2021 breeding season at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £20,000 Oct 1, SLF.
