What About Carlo victorious at Goodwood

Creachadoir colt breaks his maiden in style

First-season sire Creachadoir opened his winner's account in fine style on 25 August when his son What About Carlo was victorious over a mile at Goodwood.

Taking the early lead, the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained colt was soon settled in second under William Buick and re-taking the lead two furlongs from home, ran on well to take the one-mile contest by a length and a quarter.

Bred by Haras du Logis and Julian Ince, What About Carlo is out of the winning mare Boccatenera, herself a half-sister to G2 Prix Robert Papin winner Boccassini. He is entered in all the major juvenile contests this autumn, including the G2 Champagne, the G2 Royal Lodge, plus the G1 Dewhurst and the G1 Racing Post Trophy.

Creachadoir, who stands at Haras du Logis, was himself an outstanding miler who won the G1 Lockinge Stakes and broke his maiden by three and a half lengths in the G3 2,000 Guineas Trial.
