The first crop of Perfect Power have only just turned two and the initial comments of leading trainers have been very promising.
A Royal Ascot juvenile winner himself in the G2 Norfolk Stakes, his first crop were well received in the ring last year, averaging £62,000 with a top price of 260,000gns.
That top lot, out of the Oasis Dream mare Perfect Muse, was bought by Shadwell and is now in training with George Boughey.
Early indications are that he is impressing, “He’s been a straightforward colt from the outset”, stated the trainer.
“With a clear run he looks like he should be up and running in the first half of the year. He’s the only one we have but is a good advert for the stallion!”
Another to catch the eye of the trainer is Perfecta Virtus, a filly out of Collegiate, who Amo Racing went to £85,000 to secure.
In the stable of Kevin Philippart De Foy, he said “She looks a fast filly with a great mind, I look forward to seeing her on the racecourse. I like what I have seen so far”.
Tom Dascombe’s Lambourn yard also looks to have a smart recruit in the daughter of O’Connor’s Girl, a €27,000 purchase at Tattersalls Ireland September yearlings.
Her trainer commented that he was “Very happy with her. Looking like a mid season filly who’s grown a lot, healthy with an incredible coat. I'm waiting for 6/7f with her but delighted with her progression. Great attitude, feisty.”
Perfect Power, who is £7,500 this season, won three G1s in the Prix Morny, Middle Park Stakes and the Commonwealth Cup back at the Royal meeting at three.
