Third Stakes win for Jardina

Daughter of Shirocco lands Kolner Stutenpreis

Shirocco’s four-year-old daughter Jardina added a third Black type victory to her record, and her second at Listed level this year when battling impressively to win the one-mile Kolner Stutenpreis at Cologne.

The Peter Schiergen-trained filly was never far from the pace and held off the late challenge from favourite Pleine Forme to prevail by a neck.

Bred by Jurgen Imm, Jardina is out of the Stakes-winning mare Juvena (Platini), who is herself a half-sister to three further Black type performers.

Shirocco has been enjoying a very successful season, siring ten Black type performers including recent Park Hill Stakes winner Wild Coco, G3 winner Hartani and recent G1 Irish St Leger third Brown Panther.
