Star Lahib wins the G2 Prix de Pomone

Daughter of Cape Cross wins her second Stakes race of 2014

Star Lahib, a daughter of Cape Cross, won her second Stakes race of the year on Saturday August 16 when successful in the G2 Prix de Pomone over 2500m at Deauville. The winner of the Grosser Preis von Rossmann at Hannover in Germany earlier in the season, she handled the very soft ground well to record her sixth career victory.

Bred by Piercetown Stud, Star Lahib is out of the winning Lahib mare Cannikin and a full-sister to Stakes filly Moone Cross.

Cape Cross has sired eight top-flight winners including the modern greats Ouija Board and Sea The Stars, with Star Lahib becoming her sires' fourth individual Stakes winner of August after progressive filly Token Of Love; wide-margin juvenile scorer Convergence and the French-bred Rosehill winner I'm Your Man.
