The Stakes winners keep coming for Cape Cross!

Guest Of Honour runs out the decisive winner of the Royal Windsor Stakes

Having sired no fewer than three individual Stakes winners in the previous seven days, Cape Cross got the week off to a superb start when his son Guest Of Honour put up an impressive performance to land the Royal Windsor Stakes.

Settled in second position under Martin Harley, the Marco Botti-trained four-year-old was always travelling well and taking the lead two furlongs from home, soon put the one-mile race to bed and won by two and a quarter lengths.

Guest Of Honour has now won on three occasions, and hasn’t finished out of the first two in his last six starts. Bred by Azienda Agricola Gennaro Stimola, he it out of the winning Royal Academy mare Risera, herself a daughter of the multiple G1-placed Smageta.

Cape Cross has now sired 14 individual Black type performers this year, six of whom have won at Stakes level including exciting unbeaten colt Windhoek.

He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €35,000 October 1st SLF.
