Stakes success for Spinnawitch

Daughter of Country Reel becomes fifth Stakes winner for her sire with victory in Australia

Resuming from an injury enforce 60 week break before her last start, which she duly won by over two lengths, Country Reel mare Spinnawitch produced an outstanding effort to come from off the speed to take victory in the Listed Winter Challenge over 8f at Warwick Farm, Australia on July 28.

G3-placed on two occasions during her three-year-old season, the now five-year-old mare has returned to the track with a zest for racing for her new trainer Jarrod Austin, winning two from two.

Bred by Mrs Denise McGrath, Spinnawatch is the second winner from three to race for the winning Zabeel mare Zerelda.

Country Reel is sire of eight Stakes horses including G3 winner Abosolutly Yes and the G1 performer Baine.
