Son of New Approach adds second Stakes victory

Ostilio reignites old form to claim Listed Guisborough Stakes

Ostilio, a son of New Approach, made all to claim a second Stakes win when taking the Listed Guisborough Stakes at Redcar on Saturday, 3 October. Winner of the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein as a three-year-old, Ostilio made a resurgence this season taking a conditions event when last seen at Sandown before today’s front-running victory.

Owned and bred by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, Ostilio is a three-parts brother to G1 Prix Jean Romanet heroine Ajman Princess (Teofilo) out of the Listed-placed Mark Of Esteem mare Reem Three. She is half-sister to Dubawi’s G2 Celebration Mile winner Afsare and from the extended family of Group winner Danadana and Summer Festival.

Champion racehorse New Approach is the sire of 8 Group winners this year alone including the G2 winning quartet of Magic Lily, Loxley, Telecaster and two-year-old Mac Swiney. He was also joined on roster this season at Dalham Hall Stud by his Derby winning son Masar.
