Son of Authorized streets rivals in G2 Hill Stakes

Hartnell in career-best form to record second G2 victory this campaign

Authorized’s spring revelation Hartnell has continued his domination with an impressive 5.8-length G2 Hill Stakes (2000m) victory at Randwick on September 17.

Hartnell settled behind the leader Storm The Stars for jockey James McDonald before cruising to the lead entering the straight and pulling clear to win by the widening margin, just as the five-year-old did second-up in the G2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) at the same track on September 3 when victorious by seven lengths.

Also a winner of the G1 The BMW Stakes (2400m), Hartnell scored his fourth Group victory since being imported to Australia.

A Darley homebred, Hartnell is out of Anabba mare Debonnaire and hails from the family of French champion and three-time G1 winner Suave Dancer.

Authorized is the sire of four G1 winners, who include Hartnell, Ambivalent, Complacent and Seal of Approval.
