Snowboarder debuts with a victory at Kempton

Son of Raven’s Pass takes his sire’s tally to two

Snowboarder, a juvenile son of first-season sire Raven's Pass, scored an impressive debut victory on the Kempton Park synthetic surface, when beating his 10 rivals by one-and-three-quarter lengths. Slowly away from the stalls, he soon recovered to track the pace and showed a good turn of foot in the straight to go clear, despite showing signs of greenness.

Bred in the U.S. by Fares Farm LLC, he was purchased as a yearling for $190,000 and is out of the unraced Distorted Humor mare Gaudete, a half-sister to the three-time G2-scorer Munnings.

Standing at Kildangan Stud in Ireland for €22,500 this season, Raven’s Pass’ first crop have made a great start on the racetrack this season. His first runner, Lovely Pass, won on her debut at Lingfield and has since followed up by running third in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot behind Tha’Ir (New Approach), whilst Top Joker showed immense promise on his debut to run second in a good Newmarket maiden. To date, Raven’s Pass has had six individual runners, with two winners and only once has any failed to run a place.
