Secret Number lands his fourth Stakes race

Son of Raven’s Pass easily wins the Doonside Cup at Ayr

A trip back to Australia for the Melbourne Cup looks likely to be on the agenda for Raven’s Pass’s son Secret Number after his easy victory in the Listed Doonside Cup at Ayr. Making a belated seasonal debut, he appreciated the soft underfoot conditions and was always travelling smoothly before running out a length-and-three-quarter length victor. He was winning his fifth race that includes Stakes wins at Meydan and Chester and G3 triumph in the Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot.

Secret Number is one of three Group winner produced by the Alleged mare Mysterial, after the pair of G1-winning milers Dubai Destination and Librettist.

Raven’s Pass this season has also sired the G2 Hungerford Stakes hero Richard Pankhurst, star Italian colt Greg Pass, European Free Handicap winner Ibn Malik, last time out Chantilly Stakes-winner Zayva, and a pair of three-year-old Group fillies in Rosay and Aquila Solitaria.
