Second Group victory for son of Halling

King’s Hall lands the G3 Grosser Preis der Dusseldorf

King’s Hall, a four-year-old son of Halling, added a second Group victory to his record on 7 October, winning the G3 Grosser Preis der Dusseldorf.

The Andreas Wohler-trained colt stalked the long-time leader and previous G2 winner Alianthus, before making his move in the home straight where he battled superbly to win by a head.

Bred by Gestut Elsetal, King’s Hall is the third Black type performer out of the winning mare Konigin Turf, a half-sister to three Group winners including G2 Europa Meile winner Konig Turf.

Halling has sired no fewer than 45 Black type winners, including G1 winners Cavalryman and Cutlass Bay, plus multiple Group winner and this year’s G1 Ascot Gold Cup second, Opinion Poll.
