Second G2 win for son of New Approach

Loxley strikes in the Dubai City Of Gold at Meydan

New Approach’s son Loxley won his second G2 on Saturday, 7 March when winning the Dubai City Of Gold over 2400m  at Meydan. The winner of the G2 Grand Prix de Deauville in 2018, he was showing his first form of 2020 after two disappointing runs over shorter distances.

Loxley has now won six races for trainer Charlie Appleby.

He is a son of the G1 Prix de l’Opera heroine Lady Marian (Nayef), who has already produced two winners in Forest Maiden and Edwinstowe. She also has a two-year-old colt by Dubawi, in training with Charlie Appleby, and a New Approach colt foal born in February this year.

New Approach has sired 51 Stakes winners including 34 that have won at Group level. He is standing this season at Dalham Hall Stud for a fee of £30,000 Oct 1 SLF alongside his Derby-winning son Masar, who is covering his first mares for £15,000.
