Sea Of Thieves snatches Listed victory in final strides

New Stakes winner for Cracksman as first-crop daughter wins in France

Cracksman was the sire of a new Stakes winner as Sea Of Thieves, a daughter from his first crop, got up late to land the Listed Prix Maurice Zilber at ParisLongchamp, France on Sunday, 28 April.

The four-year-old filly, who is trained by Mario Baratti, sat mid-field under Cristian Demuro, she was then switched out for a clear run in the straight and finished strongly to snatch victory by a neck in the final strides of the 1400m contest.

Bred in Great Britain, Sea Of Thieves is owned and bred by Brightwalton Bloodstock Ltd.  She is the daughter of the winning mare, Grande Bleue (Oasis Dream), herself a half-sister to Stakes winners Snowday and Okana.  She also has a two-year-old colt by Pinatubo.

Cracksman is now the sire of 10 individual Stakes performers, headed by last season’s Champion three-year-old colt, Ace Impact, who landed both the G1 Prix du Jockey Club and G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.  So far this year Cracksman has sired 23 individual winners.

Cracksman stands for a fee of £17,500, Oct 1, SLF, at Dalham Hall Stud.
