Potemkin strikes in Germany

Son of New Approach lands the G3 Baden-Wurttemberg Trophy

New Approach’s evergreen son Potemkin struck again at Group level on Sunday, 21 October when winning the G3 Baden-Wurttemberg Trophy at Baden-Baden. The winner of five previous Stakes races including the G1 Premio Roma, he made all the running to record a cosy success.

Bred by Stiftung Gestut Fahrhof, Potemkin is a son of the Stakes-placed mare Praia (Big Shuffle) and a half-brother to the German Stakes winner Paraisa. Praia also has a Dubawi colt foal born earlier this year.

New Approach has sired 17 Stakes performers this season including Derby hero Masar, three G2-winning three-year-olds in Loxley, Ostilio and Waldlied and G1 milers Hey Gaman and Cascadian.
