Outstrip off the mark with his first winner

Cappuccino Bay lands five-furlong maiden to become the first successful runner for her first-season sire

Outstrip was an outstanding two-year-old who won the G2 Champagne Stakes by three lengths before storming to victory in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. On Sunday, 5 May he made a successful start to his career at stud when his daughter Cappuccino Bay was successful in Rome.

Cappuccino Bay was second on her racecourse debut late last month and took the five-furlong maiden by a short head to become the first winner for her sire.

Bred in Ireland by Yeomanstown Stud, Cappuccino Bay becomes the third winner out of Brazilian Flame (Camacho), herself a half-sister to Stakes-winning filly Meanya. They are from the family of King’s Stand Stakes winner Dominica.

Outstrip stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £5,000, Oct 1, SLF.
