Bocca Al Lupo, first-season son of Palace Pier, opened his account at Chantilly in ready fashion when claiming the mile maiden under jockey, Aurelien Lemaitre on Saturday January 10th 2026.
Making his debut in December over the same course and distance, Bocca Al Lupo ran into a promising third place on that occasion and showed he has improved for the experience this time around.
After breaking smartly, the Gianluca Bietolini-trained three-year-old was shuffled back towards the rear of the leading pack and travelled strongly, before picking through the field as they rounded the final bend. Once hitting the front, it was evident that he was not for catching and he stretched comfortably away, winning by a facile length and a quarter.
Bred by Haras D'Etreham, Ecurie Des Charmes et Al, Bocca Al Lupo is the third foal and first winner out of his American dam, Molly Corbin (War Front).
Palace Pier stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £32,000 (Oct 1st SLF).
